For one summer Tara worked the double-decker tour buses, swapping her typical audience of Brooklyn (by way of Cleveland) arty types for their actual Midwestern relatives. She still does the occasional walking tour, combining stories of her own pub-grown, cop's-daughter life with the history of the city she loves so much she has never left.
